RPGamer Round-Up: October 9 – October 16

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

BKOM Studios’ Sunday Gold merges point-and-click adventure and turn-based RPG mechanics. Ryan Costa finds that while the result is an average representation of both, it makes for an interesting attempt at a genre mashup.

No Place for Bravery is a tale about a grizzled combat champion picking up arms to rescue his long-lost daughter. Unfortunately, Pascal Tekaia finds that it turns into a bit of a chore.

Koei Tecmo and Omega Force return to the hunting action RPG sub-genre, partnering with EA for Wild Hearts. RPGamer was able to learn more about the game and what awaits players in its fantasy version of feudal Japan.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force’s fourth Mission Report video provides plenty more details about the game. It introduces a new party member and more gameplay systems, including the return of a familiar pointing stick.

Zeboyd Games announced its latest title will launch on PC in November. This Way Madness Lies follows the Stratford-Upon-Avon High Drama Society through the worlds of Shakespeare and magical girls.

Retreaux Games’s For a Vast Future is set to launch at the start of next month. The short, retro-styled RPG takes players to a world where decades of war have finally ended.

Mecha tactical RPG Relayer is getting an upgraded version title Relayer Advanced. Its release will see the game debut on PC this month, with current PS4 and PS5 owners getting it as a free upgrade in November.

Koei Tecmo provided new details and screenshots for Ryza’s next adventure. In addition to showing various new locations and exploration options, it introduces three new allies.

The Pokémon Company unveiled a new Gym Leader and Pokémon for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Iono is also a popular streamer, accompanied by her EleFrog partner Bellibolt.

Though RPGamer focuses on video games, many of our readers enjoy tabletop RPG, board games, and more experiences covered by PAX Unplugged. We have been given the opportunity to give away five three-day badges to the event, which takes place in Philadelphia this December.
