The First Descendant Gets New Trailer Ahead of Steam Beta

Publisher and developer NEXON released a new trailer for co-op shooter RPG The First Descendant. The cinematic story trailer introduces the game’s setting, where a century beforehand humanity had been defeated by the invading Vulgus. While humans were eventually able to fight back through Descendants, who are able to use their reawakened ancestors’ power, the new Vulgus leader Karel has emerged as a new threat.

The release of the trailer comes ahead of a beta test, which is set to run for PC via Steam, beginning at 0:00am PDT on October 20, 2022, and running until 23:59pm PDT on October 26, 2022. The beta will include ten unlockable characters, with various missions, weapons, and boss fights to try out.

The First Descendant takes place on a world that mixes sci-fi and fantasy, and features co-op for up to four players. Players control a Descendant, one tasked with defending the Ingris continent and fighting against alien invaders to help ensure the survival of humanity. It is planned to release as a free-to-play title on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
