The First Descendant Gets New Trailer

Nexon has released a new story-focused developer and gameplay video for its free-to-play co-op looter shooter The First Descendant. The company also announced it would be hosting its last public playtest this weekend on PC via Steam, where players can register. The game is due for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam this summer.

The First Descendant takes place on a world that mixes sci-fi and fantasy, and features co-op for up to four players. Players control a Descendant, one tasked with defending the Ingris continent and fighting against alien invaders to help ensure the survival of humanity.

There is a variety of characters, each with their own unique skill sets and chain actions, with players able to create multiple battle styles while using grappling hooks and firearms. Each character can be equipped with up to three guns, four secondary accessories, and a variety of sub-weapons. The game will also feature huge boss monsters, items to enhance firearm stats, equipment for character growth, which can be obtained by clearing scenario missions, and more. Those looking to read more about the game can check out RPGamer’s impression from early access to its open beta in September.

I have been gaming since I received the Sega Master System as a young child, which was the first console I ever owned (Yes, I am that old). The game that got me into RPGs was Final Fantasy VIII, a game that I still adore to this day. My favorite RPG of all time, however, is Shadow Hearts on the PS2. I do have many other interests outside of gaming as well, such as watching old-school wrestling, Reading books, 80s movies.... or anything 80s related as a matter of fact.
