Stupid Never Dies Video Goes for Another Bite
GPTRACK50 and Sega have released the second entry in their “Deep Bite” video series for action RPG Stupid Never Dies. The five-minute video sees Director Eiichiro Sasaki talk about the overall cycle of the game. Players are tasked with trying to get Davy as far as they can into its dungeon within the time limit. Between runs, players can get new gear and body hacks, as well as unlock additional level up upgrades, new skills, and new permanent abilities.
Each time Davy enters the dungeon, he starts at level 1, but swiftly gains levels. The dungeon is made up of multiple overlapping layers from different worlds, with players able to choose which worlds to go into from certain points, potentially skipping layers to get at better loot within the time limit. Experience is gained by defeating enemies, and at certain levels, Davy is given three skill upgrades to choose from. Each time players return to the mall, their level up speed increases, allowing them to make faster progress through the ever-shifting dungeon.
In addition, the game’s demo has been updated following player feedback. The demo, available on PC and PlayStation 5, now has improved enemy targeting, with it now being easier to hit enemies on the ground or in the air, as well as new Combat Camera Assist option able to be turned on or off in the settings.
Stupid Never Dies is set in the aftermath of the Great War, where humanity is on the brink of extinction and the world is ruled by monsters including werewolves, lizardmen, skeletons, and more. It follows bottom-rung zombie Davy, who discovers the human girl Julia frozen to death in a freezer in a shopping mall. Falling in love at first sight, he resolves to bring her back to life and, in a twist of fate, steals a meal that grants him powerful new abilities. Stupid Never Dies will release on PC and PlayStation 5 on October 21, 2026.
Ahhhhh the old falling in love with the girl frozen in the fridge trope.
