Relayer Advanced Announced, Hitting PC This Month

Dragami Games, a recently-established studio that has been split-off from publisher Kadokawa Games, has announced Relayer Advanced, a new updated version of mecha tactical RPG Relayer. Relayer Advanced will bring the game to PC for the first time, with it sent to release on Steam on October 26 (October 27 in Japan), 2022, and on GOG.com on November 10, 2022. In addition, the Advanced version will be available as a free update for the existing PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Relayer on November 18, 2022.

Relayer Advanced will include a number of new features and some additional content over the original game. It will include a reworked battle UI, which replaces the straight grids with “luminous lines” to show the battlefield, unit positioning, and ranges. Players will be able to readily swap between the new and original UIs. It will also add a new Recollection feature, where players can view past events from the story at will. Finally, it will include new endgame content in the form of the five-stage “Wormhole Mission”, which can be accessed after clearing the main story.

Relayer is set in the year 2051 as humanity finds itself under invasion from an alien force called Relayer. Certain humans called Starchildren begin to discover unique powers bestowed upon them and become the only ones capable of piloting Stellar Gear, large mechs that are humanity’s sole answer to the Relayer. Relayer was originally released worldwide for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on March 24, 2022.
