The sixteenth mainline Final Fantasy game is being developed by the Naoki Yoshida-led Square Enix Business Division 3. The fate of the land is decided by the Eikons, powerful and deadly creatures, and their Dominants, men and women who have been blessed with the ability to call upon and wield them.
Square Enix released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI. The Ambition trailer focuses on the game’s story and setting.
Final Fantasy XVI put in an appearance during Sony’s latest State of Play presentation. The three-minute video includes a first look at combat, plus a summer 2023 launch window reveal.

During the PlayStation 5 showcase, Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XVI. The game’s development staff features Final Fantasy XIV’s Naoki Yoshida as producer, with Final Fantasy XIV and The Last Remnant’s Hiroshi Takai as director.
