Final Fantasy Brave Exvius International Version Shutting Down

Square Enix announced that it is shutting down the international version of free-to-play mobile RPG Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Service will end at 23:59 Pacific Time on October 30, 2024. As of the announcement, sales of in-game Lapis have ended, though players can use any current Lapis until service ends. In-game events will continue to be updated until the shutdown time.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius released for iOS and Android in Japan in 2015 with its international version following in 2016. The game shares many elements with developer Alim’s previous title Brave Frontier, and is set on the world of Lapis. Players can build parties with summoned characters — using its gacha system — from past Final Fantasy titles as well as characters from other collaborations. The game also utilises other Final Fantasy elements including magic spells, limit breaks, and Esper summons.

Oh no! …. Anyway, this is exactly why I don’t bother getting into these online only microtransaction based games. they’re a money sink and one day they’ll just vanish. Not even the opportunity to pull them out in 10 years if you really enjoyed it to play a bit for nostalgia.

Been enjoying Ever Crisis lately. Hope that doesn’t go the way of the dodo too.
