RPGamer Round-Up: September 22 – September 29

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

 


Editorial Content

Sam Enright’s second effort takes players to the stars in a sci-fi adventure combining 2.5D locations and turn-based combat. Alex Fuller sees what awaits players in Beyond Galaxyland.

True to its name, Bleak Faith: Forsaken offers one of the more desolate, enigmatic takes on the action RPG subgenre. Pascal Tekaia finds that despite the obvious talent and effort on display, this title may be too bleak for its own good.

Koei Tecmo and Gust are returning to finish off their adaptation of Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail. RPGamer was able to put some questions to Fairy Tail 2 producer Hiroshi Kataoka ahead of the game’s release this December.

NantGames unveiled a new geolocation mobile RPG game that promises fantasy and real folklore. RPGamer’s Sarah Ferries was able to check out the closed beta demo for MythWalker at PAX West.

 


Major News

Monster Hunter Wilds received both a February release date and the introduction of its flagship monster, Arkveld. In addition, Capcom released a beginner’s guide video and revealed a returning monster.

GungHo Online Entertainment revealed the Lunar Remastered Collection. The bundle containing Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete will release in spring.

A prologue demo is now available for Metaphor: ReFantazio. Players can access the first part of the game and transfer their progress to the full release of Atlus’s latest title.

Square Enix and Mistwalker revealed that Fantasian Neo Dimension will release this December. Pre-orders are now available for the turn-based diorama RPG.

In more unexpected RPG news, Square Enix announced a VR version of tactical RPG Triangle Strategy. The game will launch on Meta Quest 2 and 3 in just over a month.

 

 

Level-5 announced that Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road will now launch in June of next year, while also revealing some new modes. In addition, over fifteen years after its original release, the first game in the series is getting a remake.

Koei Tecmo and Gust announced a second Atelier title for next year. Although set in the same universe as Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy & the Polar Night Liberator, the new game will be completely offline, feature new protagonists, and come to consoles.

After releasing Keylocker last week, Moonana has announced its newest title, Clowned King. The tactical RPG is inspired by Brazilian culture and sees players lead a performing troupe of clowns as they rebel against the king.

In addition to its Inazuma Eleven news, Level-5 had plenty of other titles to talk about. The developer provided updates for Fantasy Life i, Decapolice, and Megaton Musashi, as well as revealing new cross-media project Holy Horror Mansion.

Developer Riyo Games revealed its debut title Threads of Time. The game is a 2.5D turn-based RPG inspired by JRPG classics and sees players travelling through various eras to save the timeline from an impending threat.
