Monster Hunter Wilds Offers Beginners Guide

Capcom released a new “Beginner’s Guide” trailer to Monster Hunter Wilds. The eleven-minute video — narrated by player’s handler character Alma — offers an overview of the game from its premise through to its locations, different types of monsters and the dangers they bring, tactics, facilities, hunting basics, and more.

In addition, Capcom released a new extended version of its fourth official trailer from earlier this week. The extended version reveals the return of the Bird Wyvern Yian Kut-Ku, which debuted in the first Monster Hunter game. Yian Kut-Ku can be found in the Scarlet Forest, nesting in its overgrown ruins.

Monster Hunter Wilds will release on February 28, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game sees players joining a special Research Commission investigating an area called the Forbidden Lands. It is planned to feature seamless transitions from story sequences into gameplay and will also add new Seikret mounts, which can guide the riders to planned destinations and let them perform actions such as sharpening weapons and gathering materials while riding, as well as swapping to a secondary weapon without needing to return to base.
