Megaton Musashi W: Wired Welcoming Battle Royale Mode and New Pilots in November

Developer and publisher Level-5 announced a new update for action RPG Megaton Musashi W: Wired. The upcoming update, which is featured in the trailer viewable below, will be available in November. It adds a battle royale mode, titled Megarobo Batroseum, where up to six players can fight each other simultaneously. The update also comes with three new pilots and their mechas from other super robot franchises: Koji Kabuto (Mazinger Z), Ryoma Nagare (Getter Robot), and Duke Fleed (UFO Robot Grendizer).

Megaton Musashi W: Wired is an enhanced re-release of the 2021 Japan-only release Megaton Musashi and is currently available worldwide on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Megaton Musashi‘s story is set after 2118, when alien invaders called Draktor gain total control of Earth, mining it out into a torus-like shape and decimating 99.9% of humanity in the process. The surviving humans are forced to live in shelters, with most of them having their memories of Earth invasion erased.

Players take control of young pilots who are tasked with fighting against the alien invaders thanks to giant mechas known as Rogues. The game features a single player campaign and multiplayer with cross-play on all platforms. The mechas can be customised by reconfiguring their body parts and interacting with their motherboard, which can alter their abilities as well as enhance their performance.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
