Megaton Musashi Post-Launch Updates Announced

Level-5 announced its post-release update plans for mecha action RPG Megaton Musashi. The first free update is available now and adds a new superdreadnought mission, a new “Overlimit” system, new special moves and weapons, and two new mechas. Three more free updates are also planned to release in January 2022, February 2022, and spring 2022.

The company also announced that a second season of TV anime will broadcast in Japan in fall 2022 and will be accompanied by the release of a major paid expansion titled Megaton Musashi Kai. The expansion will add PvP battles (with up to three players each side), Fortress Capture co-op battles, and new story chapters featuring characters from the second season of the TV anime.

Megaton Musashi sees players controlling giant mechas fighting against alien invaders. The game is set after 2118, when alien invaders called Dracters gain total control of Earth, mining it out into a torus-like shape. Megaton Musashi is out now in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch with a free demo available on both platforms. A western release has not been announced.
