Tales of Graces f Remastered Additions Detailed

Bandai Namco provided more details about the additions and changes included in the upcoming Tales of Graces f Remastered. The update covers various quality-of-life and content additions on top of the remastered graphics in the game, which will release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on January 17, 2025.

Highlights in the remastered version of the game include the addition of a dash option while exploring, a regular encounter toggle, skippable cutscenes and skits, and an autosave function. In addition, the Grade Shop — which lets players purchase bonus effects using Grade earned in battle and usually only available in a New Game Plus — will be accessible from the start, though certain options will not be accessible during that first playthrough. There will also be a new icon highlighting the location for the next main story destination, as well as a retry feature for regular battles. Other quality-of-life features include battle subtitles, information when Artes are learned, colourblind accessibility adjustments, and more. The full list of revealed changes is available here.

In terms of content, Tales of Graces f will feature much of the cosmetic and item DLC from the original release, with the exclusion of certain licenced items. The remastered will also feature certain skits that were previously only available in Japanese, with added English voice-overs. The voice overs are being performed by the returning cast members, with the exception of Cheria (Laura Bailey), who is voiced by Alexis Tipton in the new skits. Players will be able to swap between English and Japanese voice overs in the game’s options menu.

Tales of Graces f was released for PlayStation 3 in Japan in 2010 and internationally in 2012, and is itself an enhanced version of Wii title Tales of Graces, which was released only in Japan in 2009. The game is set in the world of Ephinea and follows Asbel Lhant, a young noble who comes across a mysterious girl. After witnessing her apparent sacrifice, he comes across her once again seven years later as tensions break out between the world’s three main powers. The game utilises the Style Shift Linear Motion Battle System evolution of the Tales combat system family, which is based on using and replenishing Chain Capacity points for skills and actions, with the Graces f version also adding a “Lineage and Legacies” epilogue storyline.
