RPGamer Round-Up: January 16 – January 23

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week, or in this case, two weeks. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

Developer Logic Artists takes another step back into history with its latest title in the Expeditions series. Alex Fuller reports that Expeditions: Rome presents a thoroughly enjoyable role-playing experience in the late Roman Republic.

Ryan Radcliff and his retro Backloggin’ report concludes 2021 with an RPG completion bang. The Random Retro RPG Wheel looks to continue to spin well in 2022 and beyond.


Major News

Developer Eastshade Studios announced witch academy RPG Songs of Glimmerwick. The game is planned for release on PC and consoles next year.

Brownies Inc. announced a western release date for Egglia Rebirth. The enhanced Switch version of the mobile RPG will launch in a couple of weeks.

Freedom Games and TRAGsoft’s Coromon has a release date. Players will be able to start taming monsters around Velua at the end of March.

NIS America released its experimental local co-op mode for Nihon Falcom’s Ys IX: Monstum Nox. The mode is available to try out now on PC via Steam.

The Switch cloud versions for the Kingdom Hearts series will be releasing next month. Demos are now available for players to test out their performance.

Toge Productions announced Kriegsfront Tactics. The game is a tactical mecha RPG set in an alternate 1970s Southeast Asia and is currently in development for PC.
