Aquaplus is branching out from its usual fare with an action game, though it is still staying in the world of Utawarerumono. RPGamers can also catch Haku, Kuon, and others in gameplay clips that seem vaguely similar to a certain prolific series.
It looks like further titles are planned in Aquaplus’ Utawarerumono series. This is on top of the upcoming remake of the first game and its recently-titled action spin-off.
The first Utawarerumono game is receiving a remake in Japan this year. A new trailer reintroduces many characters that western RPGamers may remember from last year’s Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth.
Despite a sluggish first half, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception eventually managed to get going and started delivering a fascinating tale. Mask of Truth gladly picks up where it left off in order to complete the duology.
