Utawarerumono Duology Releasing on PC This Month

Publishers DMM Games and ShiraVN have announced that they are partnering with Aquaplus to release the duology of Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth on PC later this month. The games will be available via Steam on January 23, 2020.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth are hybrids of visual novel and strategy RPG set in a fantasy world and set some years after the events of the first Utawarerumono game, which has been remade as Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen. Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth were released in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 2017 by Atlus, with Prelude to the Fallen set to be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe in spring 2020 by NIS America. 1. Has there been a Prelude to the Fallen PC release announcement? Trying to decide if I should play the first game before buying the duology later this month, but I don’t have a PS4/Vita.

Wasn’t fully clear initially, but Prelude to the Fallen will be coming to PC sometime after the console release (story updated).

You don’t need to play the first game to play or understand the duology, though there are a bunch of characters that return.

      • Cool thanks for the reply. Everything I’ve read seems to agree with what you’re saying about not needing to play the first game ahead of the the others, but if they’ll all be available to me on one platform it seems like a shame not to wait!
