Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the intervening period. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

 


Editorial Content

Monster Hunter Wilds has arrived, and your hunter is officially authorized to explore the Forbidden Lands. Jordan McClain finds that with a wider scope, bigger monsters, and more lush environments, the game delivers thrilling combat on top of stunning presentation, even if a couple of elements don’t quite hit the bullseye.

For the first time officially in English, players can check out one of Kotaro Uchikoshi’s earlier works with Never 7: The End of Infinity. Ryan Costa loops back to see how enjoyable this early slice of life and science fiction hybrid turns out.

Cozy up to the fire with the latest video content from RPGamer. Among the latest offerings are a demo impression for The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- and reviews for Fantasian Neo Dimension, Rift of the Necrodancer, Keep Driving, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II.


Major News

NACON and Midgar Studio unveiled Edge of Memories. Taking place in the same universe as Edge of Eternity, the game will feature an action combat system when it launches later this year.

Publisher indie.io and developer Sword & Axe announced a release date for Dark Deity 2. RPGamers will return to the continent of Verroa in just under a month.

The Pokémon Company held a new Pokémon Presents presentation. The presentation provided some new details for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which will launch later this year.

Team17 and Lichthund announced band management RPG Rockbeasts. Releasing later this year, it puts players in charge of managing a rock band in a mid-1990s United States populated by anthropomorphic animals.

 

 

As Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition’s launch approaches, Nintendo put out a new trailer. The six-minute video offers a quick overview of the various elements of the game.

CyberConnect2 released the full official trailer for Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3. The developer also released some new images and detailed some save data bonuses from previous games.

Bandai Namco is giving more life to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. The first in a two-part DLC based on the Dragon Ball DAIMA series is releasing this summer.

Lost Pilgrims Studio announced that Vagrus: The Riven Realms is coming to new platforms. The game and its DLC will be available on consoles at the end of March.

A month after announcing layoffs for the majority of the studio, Phoenix Labs revealed that Dauntless is shutting down. The co-op action RPG will close in late May, with no further updates to be released in the intervening time.
