Dauntless Shutting Down in May
Phoenix Labs announced that free-to-play co-op action RPG Dauntless will shut down at the end of May. The game will no longer be available to play on all platforms from 11:45PM PST on May 29, 2025. It will also not be receiving any further updates in the time until its closure. The news comes a month after the developer announced that it was laying off most of its staff.
Dauntless sees players controlling Slayers, warriors sent out to fight against beasts known as Behemoths, crafting new equipment from materials gathered from vanquished foes. The game features cross-save as well as cross-platform and cross-region multiplayer on all platforms. The game originally released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2019 with a Nintendo Switch version released later that year and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions following in 2021.
