Dark Deity 2 Launching Next Month

Publisher indie.io and developer Sword & Axe announced that tactical RPG Dark Deity 2 will release on March 24, 2025. The game will be available for PC via Steam, where a demo is available until March 3, 2025, as part of the latest Steam Next Fest.

A follow-up to 2021 title Dark Deity, Dark Deity 2 returns to the continent of Verroa, although it is intended to be playable for both newcomers and returning fans. Set twenty-five years later after the events of the first game, it sees the rebuilt Verroa facing a new threat from the neighboring expansionist Holy Asverellian Empire. Players take control of a group known as the Eternal Delegation, led by previous protagonist Irving’s descendants, in order to turn the tide of the oncoming war.

Like its predecessor, Dark Deity 2 features turn-based tactical combat heavily inspired by the Fire Emblem series. The game will include twenty heroes and provide players access to forty-five character classes to choose from and customize their heroes. In addition, it will feature a dynamic campaign customization system that lets players adjust recruitment orders, fine-tune difficulty settings, and adjust stats like experience, gold, and aptitude growth. The game’s story will also change depending on the which heroes are recruited, how they develop, and the choices made by the player.
