Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

Fool’s Theory is taking players back to Poland in the early 1900s to tackle a family mystery during Russian occupation. Fortunately Zack Webster found there’s a stable of spirits at their beck and call to lend a hand in The Thaumaturge.

Can an indie game with unique gameplay and minimal presentation truly stand out? Ryan Costa examines the question at the heart of Angel Corp’s Blade Prince Academy.

Major News

Akira Toriyama’s production company Bird Studio announced that the manga creator and character designer has passed away. In addition to creating Dragon Ball and other manga, he also lent his recognisable art style to Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon.

NIS America revealed a western release date for The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak. RPGamers can join up with Van Arkride and co. in Calvard this July.

Persona 3 Reload is receiving The Answer after all. The FES-exclusive post-ending storyline will be released under the title Episode Aigis as the third part of the game’s Expansion Pass.

Capcom held a special Capcom Highlights presentation, during which it showed some more of Dragon’s Dogma 2. It also came with the announcement of a character creator tool, available to download for free now.

Nihon Falcom revealed it is working on a new Tokyo Xanadu title ahead of the action RPG’s tenth anniversary. Few details have been revealed, though it will take players to a new setting in Kyoto.

NIS America is bringing the latest RPG Maker creation suite to North America and Europe. RPG Maker WITH will launch for Switch this year, with PS4 and PS5 versions to follow in 2025.

YUKIKAZE, Studio Wildrose, and Natsume-Atari have announced that hack-and-slash roguelike Penny Blood: Hellbound has been released on Steam Early Access. A full release is expected this summer.

After running an open beta, Square Enix revealed the full release date for Final Fantasy XIV’s Xbox Series X|S version. RPGamers on the system will be able to dive fully into Eorzea in a couple of weeks.
