Final Fantasy XIV Xbox Series X|S Version Launching This Month

Square Enix revealed that MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, plus all of its expansions, will release on Xbox Series X|S on March 21, 2024. The game is currently in open beta on the console for new players. The game’s Starter Edition will be available for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers as a claimable Perk between March 21 and April 19, 2024.

Final Fantasy XIV originally released for PC in September 2010. Following the game’s original reception, it was shut down and relaunched for PC and PlayStation 3 in 2013 with A Realm Reborn, set five years after the events of the original game. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Mac versions are also available, with the PlayStation 3 version shutting down in 2017. The game has received four expansions — Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker — with its fifth — Dawntrail — set to release this summer. A Free Trial version, which grants access to the game plus its first two expansions with no game time restriction, but some limitations, is available for all platforms.
