Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


BattleCakes

Turn-based RPG BattleCakes takes players to the confectionery-themed world of Pasteleria where they control customisable cupcake hero Birthday Sprinkle. Joined by friends Red Velvet, Midnight Truffle, and more, they investigate various mysteries and hardships in nearby towns, battling or befriending monsters along the way. The game had been in Early Access since October 2023.


Blade Prince Academy

Real-time-with-pause tactical RPG Blade Prince Academy sees players lead a squad of students protecting the city from threats such as gangs, cults, and vampires. Relationships between the party grow as they interact at the academy through training and activities, with player choices helping determine the fate of the city. The game features a selection of unique heroes with their own strengths, weaknesses, backstories, and talent trees, as well as pacts that grant benefits and drawbacks. Ludus Mortis

Ludus Mortis is a first-person dungeon-crawler set in a dark fantasy version of 4th-century CE Imperial Rome where the Senate resorted to necromancy to increase its power. The game sees players take on the role of a gladiator, with them given a different purpose of ridding Rome of the undead and other invaders. The game had been in Early Access since September 2023.


Potions: A Curious Tale

Potion-crafting RPG Potions: A Curious Tale puts players in the role of a young witch named Luna. She and her cat companion Helios explore seven storybook biomes while crafting various potions for offensive and defensive purposes as well as solving puzzles.


Solasta: Crown of the Magister

Platform: PlayStation 5 (previously released on PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S)

Solasta: Crown of the Magister utilises the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 ruleset and features a story campaign with players creating their own party of adventurers, with combat that makes heavy use of verticality. The Thaumaturge

Isometric, turn-based RPG The Thaumaturge is set in an alternate version of 1905 Warsaw, following its recent annexation by the Russian Empire. Its setting features supernatural beings called Salutors that exist in the cracks of the real world. These Salutors can only be fully perceived by Thaumaturges, people who use their unique abilities and see deep into the psyches of humans. Unicorn Overlord

Strategy RPG Unicorn Overlord is set on the fantasy continent of Fevrith and follows Alain, the prince of Cornia. He is forced to flee his home during an uprising that leads to the continent-spanning Zenoiran Empire’s rebirth, but rises ten years later to lead the Liberation Army. The game features a real-time combat system where ally and enemy units face off when they come into combat.


Zoria: Age of Shattering

Price: $24.99

Tactical RPG Zoria: Age of Shattering gives players a mixture of exploration with outpost and follower management. Players control a party of four active heroes as they explore the world, which has fallen to hellspawn.
