RPGamer Round-Up: March 10 – March 17

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

 

 


Editorial Content

The story of the S.E.E.S. returns revitalized in Persona 3 Reload. Luis Mauricio reports its outstanding presentation and quality-of-life additions make it the definitive edition of an acclaimed classic.

Xenoblade Chronicles and Kingdom Hearts perhaps don’t have much in common at face value. However, Ezra Kinnell notes that there are some definite similarities that have drawn players to both.

Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II is the latest iteration in the Spirit Hunter series and sees Kazuo Yashiki return to solve the mystery behind a school haunted by spirits. Naeem Ali sees how the game holds up in comparison to previous titles.

RPGamer’s latest set of videos covers a mixture of large and small titles. This round-up includes reviews for The Last Faith, Silent Hope, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with an adventure corner for Outer Wilds and an impression of Outcast Tales: The First Journey.

 

 


Major News

Capcom revealed that the remaster of Monster Hunter Stories will release in mid-June. In addition, the game’s sequel will arrive on PS4 that same day.

Nintendo has revealed the Switch release date for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door during a short presentation celebrating MAR10 Day. The game is currently available for pre-order via the Nintendo eShop.

La Moutarde’s Terra Memoria is releasing for PC and consoles in a couple of weeks. The turn-based RPG sees players investigating a shortage of magic crystals and the awakening of ancient robots.

After a year and a half in Early Access, Brace Yourself Games has finally fully released Crypt of the NecroDancer’s Synchrony expansion. The expansion is available now on Steam, PS4, and Switch, adding multiple new features.

Nightdive Studios and Plaion have announced that the remake of sci-fi classic System Shock will be released for consoles this spring. The console version features several improvements, including a new female protagonist and a reworked ending.

GungHo Online Entertainment has announced that Grandia HD Collection will be released digitally for PS4 and Xbox One later this month. Pre-orders for the physical editions of the collection are also now available via Limited Run Games.

Audio RPG The Vale: Shadow of the Crown is now available on PS4 and Switch. The game puts players in the role of Alex, a princess who is blind from birth as her journey to a castle is interrupted by an invading force.

Publisher Nacon announced that the release date for strategy RPG Crown Wars: The Black Prince has been pushed a couple of months. This delay is meant to give the developers time to further fine-tune the game.
