Crypt of the NecroDancer’s Synchrony Expansion Gets Full Release

Brace Yourself Games announced that it has fully released its Synchrony expansion for rhythm RPG Crypt of the NecroDancer. The expansion had been available on Steam Early Access since 2022, with its full release also bringing it to consoles.

Synchrony adds cross-platform online co-op and versus multiplayer. It also adds three new playable characters — Chaunter, Suzu, and Klarinetta — and mod support, plus new weapons, spells, items, enemies, etc. The expansion is available now on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, priced at $6.99.

Crypt of the NecroDancer combines 2D dungeon-crawling with a rhythm-based movement and combat system that rewards players if they time their inputs with the beat of the game’s music. The game originally released for PC, Mac, and Linux in 2015, with the game also later released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. Brace Yourself Games also developed Cadence of Hyrule, a crossover between Crypt of the NecroDancer and The Legend of Zelda series that released for Nintendo Switch in 2019.
