Mighty Koi Announces The Night Wanderer, Thorgal

Developer Mighty Koi announced that it is working on two games: The Night Wanderer and Thorgal. Both RPGs are in early production phase for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with release dates that have yet to be determined. Mighty Koi is developing the two upcoming titles on Unreal Engine 5, stating it is using technologies that include photogrammetry and AI.

The Night Wanderer is a Soulslike adaptation of Jarosław Grzędowicz’s fantasy book series Lord of the Ice Garden. The story takes place in a setting that blends science fiction with dark fantasy elements. Players assume the role of mercenary Vuko Drakkainen who is tasked to find a lost scientific expedition on the mysterious planet Midgaard. Mighty Koi is working closely with Jarosław Grzędowicz and the publishing house Fabryka Słów to ensure the The Night Wanderer is faithful to its source material.

Thorgal is based on the comic book of the same name by Grzegorz Rosiński and Jean Van Hamme. The game tells the adventures of Viking Thorgal Aegirsson, who desires to protect his loved ones from both humans and the wrath of vengeful gods. The plot will make the player relives some of the stories told in the original comic book while the gameplay will draw some inspiration from The Witcher.

Mighty Koi is a Warsaw-based studio formed in 2022 and billed as creating “AA+ / AAA games”. The company employs nearly 100 persons comprised of experienced individuals that formerly worked for major studios including FromSoftware, Konami, Wargaming, CD Projekt, and Ubisoft.
