RPGamer Round-Up: August 11 – August 25

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous two weeks. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

Thunderful Games’ SteamWorld Heist II offers players a new swashbuckling adventure. Ryan Costa sees whether it stands up to the deepest ocean depths.

Stellar Blade makes a bold first impression with its standout visuals. Ezra Kinnell finds out whether it has the narrative and gameplay chops to back it up.

Visions of Mana is arriving later this month, and RPGamer’s Luis Mauricio was given a chance to play its opening chapters. He reports that a beautiful semi-open world and equippable classes promise a delightful journey to the Tree of Mana.

Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid reminds players of a simpler time and place, wanting the player to create lasting memories. Sam Wachter discovers whether its childhood summer nostalgia leads to a worthwhile game.


Major News

EA and BioWare announced the release date for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. A new trailer revealed that the game will see players battling against corrupt Elven gods.

Final Fantasy XVI will be making its way onto PC in just under a month. Players can check out its demo now on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In addition to running through all of the game’s weapon types, Capcom released plenty of new details and media for Monster Hunter Wilds. The update includes new areas, new monsters, new gameplay elements, and more.

 

 

Atlus announced the voice actors playing major roles in Metaphor: ReFantazio. In addition, the company had some new things to show at this week’s Gamescom.

1960s Americana-set Bloomtown: A Different Story has received a September release date. The turn-based RPG works in social sim and monster-taming elements.

Moonana Games’s Keylocker finally has a full release date. The cyberpunk turn-based RPG will arrive on PC and consoles next month.

Publisher United Label announced the release date for sci-fi adventure RPG Beyond Galaxyland. The Sam Enright-developed title is set to launch in September for PC and consoles.

Grinding Gear Games revealed that Path of Exile 2’s Early Access will be coming in November. The Early Access will be available simultaneously on PC and consoles.

Atlus released a trailer and some new screenshots for Persona 3 Reload’s Episode Aigis. The company also provided some extra details about what’s included in the expansion.
