RPGamer Round-Up: April 27 – May 4

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the intervening period. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

 

 


Editorial Content

The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- is a blend of adventure and tactical RPG from the creators of the Danganronpa and Zero Escape series. Mohamed Lamine Coulibaly finds that a well-balanced battle system beautifully intertwines with its mind-blowing narrative.

Nintendo and Monolith Soft have brought the remaining Xenoblade title to Switch. Alex Fuller reports that, no longer trapped on the Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles X takes the opportunity to spread its wings with aplomb.

Spring is in the air and with it comes a new round up of videos from RPGamer. In this batch, we have audio interviews with the game directors of Shadows of the Road and Broken Roads, as well as Adventure Corners for Kaichu: The Kaiju Dating Sim, Ever 17: The End of Infinity, and Never 7: The Out of Infinity.

Sea of Stars’s free Throes of the Watchmaker DLC will be arriving in a few weeks. The DLC features a new post-game adventure containing around eight hours of content.

Looter-shooter Borderlands 4 is coming a little earlier than initially planned this September. The game also received a dedicated State of Play showcase, revealing plenty of details about its gameplay.

Following the recent revival of the Dokapon franchise, developer Sting is creating a new board game-style RPG called VIractal. The single-player and co-op game is planned to launch in Early Access at a future time.

 

 

Pin Box has partnered with Nihon Falcom to create a special Bracer Supply Box for the upcoming The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. Although it doesn’t include the game, it features lots of items for collectors.

Atlus and iam8bit are partnering to release a vinyl soundtrack for Metaphor: ReFantazio. The four LP release is available to pre-order now and expected to ship later this year.

505 Games revealed that Leenzee’s Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will launch in July. The action RPG is available to pre-order now, with in-game bonuses for those who pre-order or purchase its Deluxe Edition.

Ultizero Games revealed that the release of Lost Soul Aside has been pushed back. Previously planned to launch in late May, the action RPG will now arrive in August.

Idea Factory International announced a July release date for Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy. The dungeon-crawler will release physically and digitally, with a newly revealed Collector’s Edition available to pre-order soon.
