Varlet Opening Movie Released

FuRyu released the opening movie for the upcoming turn-based RPG Varlet. The animated video features the game’s theme song “「Shiori」”, performed by Minori Suzuki (as character Aruka Arisaka) and composed by wotaku. The game is planned to release internationally for PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on August 28, 2025.

Developed by Aquria, Varlet is set in Kousei Academy, the first school to implement a cross-reality network called Johari. The network is used for everything from finding basic information and making purchases to serving as a social networking and messaging app. However, its usage has caused students’ desire for approval and attention to increase. Soon an urban legend begins that the system’s users disappear into otherworldly “Glitches”, with monsters inhabiting the “Glitches” replacing users in the real world.
