Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker Launching May 20
Developer Sabotage Studio announced that the free Throes of the Watchmaker DLC to Sea of Stars will release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on May 20, 2025. The DLC adds a new post-game adventure with around eight hours of content with its own self-contained progression loop.
Throes of the Watchmaker sees Zale and Valere reunite to investigate a new invention by the genius inventor known as Watchmaker: the miniature clockwork world of Horloge. The world is threatened by a cursed carnival, with Zale and Valere needing to adapt to its strange rules to fully master their powers. It includes new classes and skills with Zale swapping his sword to become a juggler and Valere trading her staff for acrobatics. There is also a brand new party member in the form of Artificer, a mechanised sharpshooter. The DLC includes a new score from Lead Composer Eric W. Brown with Yasunori Mitsuda also returning as a guest composer.
Sea of Stars released in August 2023. It takes inspiration from classic RPGs of the 90s and is set in the same universe as Sabotage Studio’s first game, The Messenger. The game follows the story of the two children of the Solstice as they seek to combine the powers of the sun and moon to fight the evil alchemist known as the Fleshmancer.
