Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

Chained Echoes is proof positive that all-round excellence is achievable regardless of budget. Pascal Tekaia reports that it’s a game that can be savored by modern players and those pining for the glory days of 16-bit JRPGs alike.
Square Enix has re-released Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. As one of Sam Wachter’s all-time favourite RPGs, she examines whether it deserves to keep its top spot or whether that status is inflated by nostalgia.
Path of the Midnight Sun, the debut title from Studio Daimon, combines visual novel storytelling with strategic turn-based RPG combat. Alex Fuller finds that although neither element truly shines on its own, the game balances them well to create a satisfying 25-hour experience.
Major News
CyberConnect2 revealed that Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 will release worldwide in May. The game is set a year after the events of the first game and sees the children once again piloting a giant tank, this time on a rescue mission.
After releasing mobile and Switch ports in Japan, Sting is bringing Yggdra Union to PC. The game will launch as a Steam Early Access title in February, including English text and audio.
Bethesda and ZeniMax Online Studios streamed a lengthy reveal for the upcoming year of content for The Elder Scrolls Online. The first two parts of this year’s adventures arrive in March and June.
Cygames recently held its Granblue Fantasy Fes 2022–2023 event. The event included the reveal of more media and details for upcoming action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink.
Tactical RPG Redemption Reapers now has a firm release date. The game from Binary Haze Interactive and Adglobe will launch in just under a month.
Square Enix revealed that mobile title Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai – A Hero’s Bonds is ending service. The game will receive some final content updates ahead of its closure in April.
