Wantless Demo Released

Publisher Twin Sails Interactive and developer Drop Rate Studio have announced they are partnering for the release of tactical RPG Wantless. The news comes alongside the release of a free demo for the game on Steam. The demo highlights the game’s skill-crafting system, where players can combine different elements to create their own abilities.

Wantless puts players in control of Eiris. He is one of the last Transposers, a doctor who is able to delve into the minds and memories of the patients. Players face these mental horrors in turn-based combat. Each turn grants them eight action points, with more obtained by defeating enemies; however, every action point used grants one to each enemy for their turn.

Patients are generated with their own modifiers, traits, and story elements. As Eiris progresses through his patient’s subconscious he can cause disruptions, which results in stranger encounters. He is able to collect synapses, which can combined to create his skills and build, while a Mind Tree features some powerful nodes that can provide both benefits and drawbacks. Wantless is planned to release as a Steam Early Access title in fall 2023.
