Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we take a look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

Astalon: Tears of the Earth is a metroidvania that recently released on numerous platforms. Michael Baker upholds his pact with the Titan of Death in order to provide a review of the game.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance brings co-op hack-and-slash action to PC and consoles. Paul Shkreli determines that a decent multiplayer experience is overshadowed by a pithy single-player campaign and unrefined mechanics.

The ambitious debut project from Midgar Studio has fully released on PC. Alex Fuller finds that many of Edge of Eternity’s problems can be pointed towards that ambition.

Major News

Square Enix announced that the first three Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters will launch at the end of this month. The remaining three will follow at a later date, with the old versions of V and VI to be removed from sale on Steam.

Capcom held a pre-launch presentation for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. The presentation featured the reveal of post-launch updates coming to the game through October.

After only a few months in open beta, Magic: Legends announces its upcoming closure. The game will shut down in October and refunds will be made available to those who spent money.

Bandai Namco released a new developer message video for Tales of Arise. The game’s Producer, Director, and Art Director discuss how the combat and characters utilise the game’s theme.

CyberConnect2 provided some new gameplay footage for Fuga: Melodies of Steel ahead of its release this month. RPGamers can see the game’s combat and intermission sections.

Star Wars: The Old Republic celebrates its tenth anniversary this December. As part of its preparations for the event, BioWare announced the MMORPG’s seventh expansion.
