Final Fantasy I-III Pixel Remasters Launching End of July

Square Enix announced that its “pixel remaster” versions of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, and Final Fantasy III will launch on July 29, 2021. The games will release on PC via Steam, iOS, and Android. Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II are priced at $11.99, while Final Fantasy III is priced at $17.99. Those who pre-pruchase the games on Steam will receive two wallpapers, three music tracks, and a 20% discount.

The pixel remaster versions include redrawn 2D pixel characters and background graphics, including character pixel designs from the games’ original artist Kazuko Shibuya. They also include rearranged soundtracks, controller and touch controls, updated UIs, and auto-battle options as well as new features including a bestiary, an illustration gallery, a music player, and the ability to save at any time. The content of each of the remasters is based on the original release versions. Similar releases are planned for Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI, but have not yet been dated.
