FromSoftware took a small step back from the RPG elements of the Souls series with action adventure Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. In his RPGamer debut, Jordan McClain takes a look back at the 2019 title, finding that the game delivers a superb combat experience bolstered by an excellent presentation.

Nihon Falcom revealed that its remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky will launch worldwide this fall. The game will be published in western regions by GungHo Online Entertainment.
Nihon Falcom’s crossover fighting game Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga is finally getting an international release. Players will be able to pit Adol, Dogi, Estelle, Joshua, and company against each other next year.
Action RPG Ys X: Nordics is getting an enhanced version in Japan. Ys X: Proud Nordics will release next year, adding new story content with a large island for Adol and Karja to explore.
Developer Nihon Falcom announced that founder Masayuki Kato has passed away. Founding the studio in 1981, he served as its first president and was its latest chairman.
Hack-and-slash roguelike Penny Blood: Hellbound has exited Early Access. The prequel to Shadow Hearts spiritual successor Penny Blood is fully available on Steam.
Developer Mortis Ghost and publisher Fangamer revealed that unconventional 2008 RPG OFF is getting a release. The new version will launch via Steam as well as physically and digitally for Switch in 2025.
Square Enix and Mistwalker have released a demo for Fantasian Neo Dimension. The demo lets palyers access the game’s opening hours and transfer progress to the full game.
Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku Studio released more media for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. A new trailer highlights the game’s English dub, while screenshots show its side content and mini-games.
