Stygian: Outer Gods Gets More Details

Fulqrum Publishing and Misterial Games released new details for the upcoming first-person Lovecraftian survival horror RPG Stygian: Outer Gods. The game is set in the same universe as Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones. It is planned to release for PC and PlayStation 5 in 2025.

Stygian: Outer Gods sees players take on the role of a former anthropologist and soldier, who was discharged due to a severe injury. In a precarious mental state, he is haunted by nightmares and his father’s unresolved disappearance. He receives an invitation from a young woman to join an expedition to the secluded town of Kingsport, which had previous caught his father’s interest.

Players soon find themselves drawn into a web of secrets, mysteries, and schemes, with the ominous arrival of an event called the Black Day ticking down. The game includes a variety of characters, including known Lovecraftian figures such as Keziah Mason, each with their own storylines. Combat will let players wield melee or ranged weapons, though ammo will be scarce, encouraging stealthy approaches where possible. Players will be able to unlock and upgrade skills and abilities to help customise and benefit their play style.
