RPGamer Round-Up: January 29 – February 5

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

2022 provided us with another packed full of quality RPGs of nearly all shapes and sizes. After taking our traditional month off to digest as much as possible, we’re proud to reveal the RPGamer Best of 2022 Awards.


Major News

Following its Japanese launch last week, NIS America confirmed that the latest Disgaea game is indeed heading west. Disgaea 7 will hit North America and Europe in fall.

Western RPGamers are finally getting an opportunity to play the second and third Marl Kingdom games in English. NIS America is releasing Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess and Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom this summer.

Atomic Heart takes players to an alternate Soviet Union when it launches in a few weeks. Focus Entertainment and Mundfish put out an eight-minute video giving an overview of what players can expect to see there.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line launches in a couple of weeks, and Square Enix has given players an opportunity to try it out early. The company also showed some of its DLC and revealed more playable characters.

Cthulhu Mythos ADV: Lunatic Whispers is a mixture of eldritch adventure visual novel and tabletop RPG mechanics released in Japan last year. Gotcha Gotcha Games announced that it is planning to release an English localisation this month.

After remastering its first Geneforge title a few years ago, Spiderweb Software is turning attention to its sequel. A Kickstarter campaign for Geneforge 2 – Infestation will begin next week.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is looking to get its next content update next week. For those who have also played Iceborne, a familiar face will be making a return.
