New Release Round-Up (February 2, 2023)
Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.
8-Bit Adventures 2
8-Bit Adventures 2 is inspired by Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and PlayStation-era JRPGs. The game sees players trying to save the world from an entity known as the Glitch, with seven playable characters and a turn-based combat system. Console versions are still being worked on by Ratalaika Games, and are planned to release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch at a later date.

A Bavarian Tale: Totgeschwiegen puts players in the role of Valentin Schmidt. The young surveyor is sent to Wolpertshofen, and ends up needing to make use of his detective skills after a mysterious death, which starts to unravel the facade of the apparently peaceful village. Character builds are an important part of the game, with players able to choose what skills to upgrade, with various skill checks utilising pen-and-paper RPG mechanics. Challenges can be tackled in multiple ways with different skills, with players also having to make choices throughout the game.

SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is the latest title in the SpellForce hybrid RPG and strategy series and puts players in the role of a wizard who starts off with their own small tower aiming to become the greatest mage in history. Players can send armies of heroes and minions to explore the world, obtain artifacts, and battle rivals and factions, while also expanding their tower with new rooms to help determine their path to greatness.
