New Release Round-Up (November 14, 2024)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released in the last week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake uses the HD-2D graphics style previously used in Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy. Dragon Quest III originally released for the Famicom in Japan in 1988 and is the third title in the connected Erdrick saga. The game begins in the kingdom of Aliahan, with players controlling the son or daughter of Ortega. On their sixteenth birthday, they are given an order by the king to complete their father’s quest and slay the Archfiend Baramos. The game is takes place prior to the events of its predecessors, with the other two games set to release as Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake next year. Everholm is billed as a cozy, minimalist RPG. It follows a young girl named Lilly, who searches for her missing sister but is spirited away to an island where everyone appears to know her. In addition to uncovering the secrets of the island and her sister’s disappearance, Lilly is tasked with reviving a small, rundown farm. Players are able to farm, forage, and fish as they look to gain the trust of the locals, as well as explore the island’s procedurally generated underworld, where they need to use weapons and spells to overcome monsters and challenges.


Goblin Slayer -Another Adventurer- Nightmare Feast

Tactical RPG Goblin Slayer -Another Adventurer- Nightmare Feast is based on the Goblin Slayer light novel series. The game features an original story from series creator Kumo Kagyu with character designs by original series artist Noboru Kannatsuki. It features a new cast led by a heroine called Guild Master, though characters from the original series will appear in the game. The series features a dark fantasy setting inspired by tabletop role-playing games, focusing on a party of adventurers whose leader is out on a quest for revenge against the goblins.

Story-driven deckbuilding cyberpunk RPG HeistGeist is set in a fictional version of Central Europe in the 2040s. The game follows Alexandra, a street-smart thief who is on the run after being double-crossed during a heist gone wrong. She is given the opportunity to undertake the heist of a lifetime while trying to stay alive, escape corporate assassins, and avoid a vengeful client. Players assemble a team of experts while engaging in card-paced battles that make heavy use of sequencing and combos. It also features card-based hacking puzzles.

Strategy RPG Songs of Conquest has four different campaigns for players to experience, focusing on different nations. The game is inspired by 1990s strategy titles and sees players leading powerful magicians called Wielders, exploring a variety of maps while managing resources and expanding their kingdom.

Turn-based RPG VED features a non-linear story following Cyrus after he arrives in the city of Micropolis in search of a new life. He discovers an ability to teleport between two interconnected worlds: his regular world and a magical realm of flying islands and strange creatures. The game features numerous choices and consequences leading to multiple available endings.
