After catching up on last weekend’s numerous announcements, RPGamer returns with some more editorial content and additional news. This week includes reviews for Pong Quest and Light Fairytale Episode 1, plus a trio of impressions and a new edition of JRPG Study Time.

A new Japanese trailer for Neptunia Virtual Stars goes over a number of the game’s major elements. The virtual idol-focused spin-off hits Japan in August, with a western release set for next year.
Nippon Ichi Software provide more details on Shoujo Jigoku no Doku Musume ahead of its launch in Japan next week. The update covers a selection of gameplay elements, as well as some of the girls who have ended up in hell.
Imagineer released a five-game Medabots Classics collection for 3DS in Japan back in 2017. The company is now releasing a larger Plus collection of eight games on Switch.
Larian Studios’ Swen Vincke opened up the D&D Live 2020 event with some Baldur’s Gate III gameplay. The 90-minute stream showed some of the upgrades made to the game since its last stream in February.
The western release for dungeon-crawler Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Infinite Combate has been dated. The game will launch in North America and Europe in just under two months.
Persona 4 Golden hit PC at the weekend, with Summer in Mara also making its debut on PC and consoles. Meanwhile, Hakinowa Explorer Plus and One Way Heroics Plus both make their way to Switch, with The Elder Scrolls Online coming to Stadia, and more.
Today marks the launch of the first expansion for Pokémon Sword and Shield. The Pokémon Company used the day to also reveal some other non-RPG titles, including a New Pokémon Snap.
Scarlet Nexus is a new action RPG from Bandai Namco being developed by former members of the Tales team. A new trailer is accompanied by a developer interview and gameplay footage from IGN’s Summer of Gaming event.
A new trailer for Sword Art Online: Alicization Lyrocis shows many of its major cast members. The video also includes a preview of the theme song for the game launching this July.
The Steam Game Festival offers players the opportunity to try and watch gameplay for a very large number of games. Included in the event are many RPGs.
Gestalt: Steam & Cinder looks to draw inspiration from classic sidescrolling RPGs. The game from Sold Out and Metamorphosis Games is set to release for PC and consoles later this year.
Tactical Adventures’ new trailer for Solasta: Crown of the Magister invites players to choose their path. Heavily inspired by tabletop RPGs, the game will utilise the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 ruleset.
Cris Tales is a turn-based, time-manipulation RPG with heavy influences from classic JRPGs that has a lot to recommend it. Modus Games and Dreams Uncorporated gave RPGamer a detailed look of roughly three-to-four hours of content in a preview demonstration.
The Game Bakers showed off five minutes of new gameplay footage for Haven. Players will be able to join Yu and Kay on PC and consoles later this year.
Some new content has been added to Divinity: Original Sin II in the form of the Four Relics of Rivellon. Menawhile, Larian Studios announced a graphical novel based on the game, telling the origin stories of its six party members.
PM Studios has signed with Video Games Plus for the latter to act as its Canadian and overseas distributor. To celebrate the announcement, Mercenaries Saga Chronicles has received a limited reprint on Nintendo Switch.
Another World of Darkness game has been announced. Very little is known at this stage about Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Heart of the Forest, other than it is not to be confused with the upcoming Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood.
All in! Games and Gamera Interactive provided some new gameplay for Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms. Eleven minutes of footage shows character creation, exploration, and combat.
A couple of new videos are available for sci-fi roguelite Star Renegades. In addition to an animated trailer, eight minutes of gameplay footage show off a battle against a challenging robotic opponent.
