Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds Devlog Previews 1.0 Release

Developer Ocelot Technologies released a new devlog post and video for its turn-based RPG Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds. The post gives a preview of some aspects of the game’s full release, currently expected in Q2 2027 after over two years on Steam Early Access. It introduces Hero Mode, the Archives, and some new skills from its Rogue, Pyromancer, and Engineer schools.

Hero Mode is a challenge mode with a single save. It is based on Tactician difficulty — the toughest of the three regular options — and prevents players from reloading to an earlier point. If players do die, they are able to continue on Tactician difficulty and finish their playthrough normally. Meanwhile, the Archives is a large new dungeon in an ancient elven library that contains puzzles, battles, new enemy types, and more. It includes lore quizzes, with players able to find various pieces of information that may be relevant to ongoing and new quests, as well as the main storyline.

Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds is set in the fantasy realm of Aarde. Players control a fledgling customised member of the Heroes Guild as tensions and crises unfold around them. Players can fully customise their companions’ skills and abilities with 100 skills across ten disciplines as well as forming their own relationships with them. The game features isometric turn-based combat, while player choices will have impacts upon its story.
