Wartales’s Knights of Fardensa Expansion Set for December

Shiro Games has announced a new expansion for tactical RPG Wartales. The Knights of Fardensa expansion is planned to release for PC via Steam and GOG on December 9, 2026, priced at $19.99 with a 10% launch discount. It will come alongside a new free update, which adds mounted fighters.

The expansion takes players to the Renaissance-inspired realm of Fardensa, where a political conflict threatens to unseat the powerful Ald Hertogg family, which currently controls the region’s trade and horses. Players decide which side their warband will support, with each move impacting the clash between estates. It includes a new unlockable legendary companion character, a new Knight character title, six legendary horses, new challenges, new weapons, new equipment, and new items. Meanwhile, in addition to allowing mounted units, the free update will include the ability to breed horses, a new Mastery class and specialisations, new equipment and accessories, and new armour customisation options.

Wartales released for PC in April 2023, before also being released on Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S. The base game takes place in the remnants of the Edoran Empire, which still suffers from the effects of a plague one hundred years earlier. Players attempt to survive the cutthroat world by recruiting mercenaries and taking on dangerous missions to pay the bills.
