Jeanne d’Arc Getting Console Release as PS Plus Title

Sony announced that tactical RPG Jeanne d’Arc will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as a PS Plus Game Catalog title. The game will be available for those who subscribe to the PlayStation Plus Premium tier from July 17, 2024.

Jeanne d’Arc is developed by Level-5 and was released for PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2006 and North America in 2007. The game was not released in Europe, with the PS Plus release marking the title’s debut in the region. As its title suggests, the game is loosely based on the story of Joan of Arc and her fight against English occupation of France in the early 15th century during the Hundred Years’ War. It features fantasy elements, with turn-based combat that makes use of a rock, paper, scissors system between character affinities to Sol, Luna, and Stella. Even the mundane parts of this game are not remotely based on the life of Joan of Arc. For example. she said bluntly (during the fourth session of her trial) that she didn’t fight in combat but instead carried her banner in battle, confirmed by numerous eyewitness accounts; but the game shows her fighting.
