Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

Suikoden and Eiyuden Chronicle creator Yoshitaka Murayama passing in February marked a sad day in the RPG community. Sam Wachter shares a special tribute about the importance of Murayama’s work and the power of finding community.

Major News

Square Enix provided some new story and gameplay information for Visions of Mana. The company also provided new screenshots, art, and video footage for the action RPG, which launches this summer.

Square Enix released a free update for Star Ocean: The Second Story R. The update includes a new difficulty option, plus some extra post-game additions and features.

To celebrate the game’s launch a month ago, Square Enix released a behind-the-scenes documentary series for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The four-video series features interviews with a large variety of those involved in its creation.

Raw Fury and Bytten Studio had multiple reveals for monster-battling RPG Cassette Beasts. In addition to an online multiplayer update, the game is also getting a collaboration and mobile release.

A free demo for Stellar Blade releases on PS5 this week ahead of the game’s launch next month. Players will be able to try out the first section of the action RPG, up to its first boss fight.

Take-Two Interactive announced it is acquiring Borderlands developer Gearbox from Embracer Group. The deal is set to be completed in the second half of this year.

Doom Turtle has announced the development of a new turn-based RPG, Legends of Starkadia. The game is influenced by classic RPGs such as Earthbound and Chrono Trigger.
