Megaton Musashi W: Wired Pre-orders Begin
Developer Level-5 announced pre-orders are available for the upcoming RPG Megaton Musashi W: Wired. Pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game are open now, while pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch port will be available from April 11, 2024. Those pre-ordering the game will receive a bonus limited-edition Rogue, Yatabushi. While there is no pre-order available for the Steam release, the bonus Rogue Yatabushi will be available for purchase on Steam when the game releases for all four platforms on April 25, 2024. In addition, Level-5 announced that the anime adaption of the game will air internationally on Crunchyroll soon.
Megaton Musashi W: Wired is an enhanced re-release of the 2021 Japan-only release Megaton Musashi localized for the first time for international audiences. Megaton Musashi‘s story is set after 2118, when alien invaders called Draktor gain total control of Earth, mining it out into a torus-like shape and decimating 99.9% of humanity in the process. The surviving humans are forced to live in shelters, with most of them having their memories of earth invasion erased. Players take control of young pilots who are tasked with fighting against the alien invaders thanks to giant mechas known as Rogues.
The game is an action RPG featuring a single player campaign and multiplayer with cross-play on all platforms. The mechas can be customised by reconfiguring their body parts and interacting with their motherboard, which can alter their abilities as well as enhance their performance. The Wired version will include exclusive content and collaborations adding mechas from Mazinger Z, Getter Robo, UFO Robot Grendizer, Combattler V, and Voltes V.
