Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

Star Ocean: The Second Story R had many RPGamers screaming at their TVs with the announcement. But does Sam Wachter deems the game more than a 8 out of 10?

Backpack Hero takes a look at the finer things in life: precise organization and a deep gameplay loop. Ryan Costa reports on whether its presentation manages to keep the bundle fully intact.

Studio Sai’s debut is a dating sim action RPG taking place during the apocalypse. Unfortunately for Paul Shkreli, its uninspired combat and a drab presentation drag down an intriguing story and a likeable cast.

Crimson’s as red as can be, but all the flags are green for this action-adventure title. After obtaining the title in a giveaway, Michael Baker looks back at Flynn: Son of Crimson.

MMORPG New World received its first full expansion last month. RPGamer’s Alex Fuller was able to talk to Game Director Scot Lane about the reception to Rise of the Angry Earth and some of the ideas and goals behind it.

 


Major News

Capcom held a new showcase presentation for Dragon’s Dogma 2. In addition to revealing a March release date, it also provided more story and gameplay information for the action RPG.

Grinding Gear Games held its latest livestream for Path of Exile. In addition to announcing the Affliction expansion, the developer shared some more footage and info for Path of Exile 2.

Bar Stella Abyss from Nippon Ichi Software has been announced. The new strategy RPG roguelike lands in Japan early next year.

Larian Studios released its latest major update for Baldur’s Gate III. Patch 5 includes a new epilogue, plus Honour Mode and Custom Mode.

Alongside its Ultimate Edition release in a few days, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting its Update 2.1 patch. Additions include a metro system, more vehicular content, and additional accessibility features.

Yukikaze, Studio Wildrose, and Natsume Atari have revealed a revealed a companion title to Shadow Hearts spiritual successor Penny Blood. Penny Blood: Hellbound is an action roguelite planned to release next year.

Bungie announced a delay for Destiny 2’s The Final Shape expansion. Previously planned for February, it will now launch in early June.

Level-5 has offered updated release windows and new trailers for its full slate of upcoming games. Megaton Musashi: Wired, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, and Decapolice have all been officially delayed to next year, and fans will need to wait even longer for the next Professor Layton.
