RPGamer Round-Up: August 7 – August 14

Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

 


Editorial Content

Square Enix and Lancarse’s The DioField Chronicle offers a rare real-time strategy RPG. RPGamer was able to get an early look at the game’s demo, which is available now.

There are a great many books in this world: Some are magic, some mundane. At least a few of them must be on the topic of good game design, but Michael Baker finds that Book Quest likely doesn’t come up in them.


Major News

The first title update for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is available now. Capcom provided plenty of details about what it contains.

The latest Neptunia title is heading west. Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters will release on PC and PlayStation consoles early next year.

Another sports RPG is coming soon. Soccer Story is planned to hit PC and consoles later this year.

Atlus released new trailers for Soul Hackers 2. In addition, the company provided further details on the game’s launch DLC.

Square Enix held another Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer presentation. It includes the reveal of the trailer and release for Patch 6.2, Buried Memory, plus a look at the new content it contains.

Team17 and BKOM Studios announced a September release date for Sunday Gold. The point-and-click, turn-based adventure RPG has a free prologue available on Steam.

Grinding Gear Games revealed its latest Path of Exile expansion, Lake of Kalandra. The developer also announced that ExileCon is returning in 2023.
