New Information and Images Come Out for Disgaea 6

Developer Nippon Ichi has released new information and screenshots for its upcoming RPG Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny. The below screens introduce two new major characters to the cast, generic characters, and new battle mechanics. The first of the newly revealed characters is Magileine, a sorceress and the headmaster of the magic academy who has made herself famous under the name Magical Girl Pretty Magileine, while the other new character, Chusendol, is the king of the human world and the richest person in the world.

The game will see the return of many generic characters players can create and use in their parties, and also introduces two new classes. The Psychic is a boy that wields guns and staves who focuses on opponents’ weak points, and the Armored Valkyrie is a robot created using super science that can attack large numbers of enemies using guns.

The story in Disgaea 6 follows a universal calamity known as the God of Destruction who is destroying a great number of worlds and cannot be defeated. The game’s protagonist is a zombie named Zed who is trying to use a new process called Super Reincarnation in order to get stronger in an attempt to stop the universal threat. The game will also introduce a new feature to the series called Auto Battle that lets characters fight on their own. The Machine Edit feature will allow players to get detailed information on enemies’ weaknesses and which attacks to use on them. There will also be a 2x Speed Mode and a Play Again mode that allows players to retry the same stage multiple times.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 28, 2021. NIS America will publish the game in Europe and North America for Nintendo Switch, where it is expected to release in the summer of 2021.
