NIS America Press Event Round-up

NIS America held its annual press event, highlighting the publisher’s upcoming releases, including a few new announcements. The first game shown at the event was imminent The Longest 5 Minutes, which received a launch trailer (all videos can be found at the bottom of this article) ahead of its release for PC, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. NIS America is also publishing the Nintendo Switch version of YummyYummyTummy’s Fallen Legion. Dubbed Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory, the Switch version includes both story campaigns that were initially released separately on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. In addition to providing some new screenshots and a trailer, the publisher also announced a release date: May 29, 2018 for North America and June 1, 2018 for Europe.

 

 

Another game receiving some extra media was The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2, which is set to be released for PlayStation 4 in North America on March 27, 2018 and in Europe on March 30, 2018. The media features both a small selection of screenshots and a character trailer introducing its principle cast.

 


 

Penny-Punching Princess gained an English gameplay trailer, with its release date also updated. The money-based action RPG is now set to be released physically and digitally for Nintendo Switch and digitally-only for PlayStation Vita in North America on April 3, 2018 and in Europe on March 30, 2018.

A new trailer appeared for the Nintendo Switch version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. The game does not yet have a release date outside of 2018, but NIS America revealed that it will be based on the PlayStation 4 version and come with the Deserted Pirate, “Laxia’s Eternian Scholar”, and Tropic Swimwear costumes as well as six other cosmetic DLC. The Lost Child also doesn’t have a set release date, but is planned for summer 2018 physically and digitally on PlayStation 4 and digitally-only on PlayStation Vita. It received some new screenshots and a new trailer.

 


 

Finally, we come to the new games announced at the event. The first title is Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded, an enhanced version of the doujin roguelike set in the Touhou unvierse. The new version will be released in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2018 and features the original game, all of its DLC, plus extra characters and scenarios. A limited edition is available to pre-order from the NIS America online store, priced at $79.99, including an acrylic character parade stand, button set, hardcover art book, and 2-CD original soundtrack.

 


 

The other title announced was Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk. The dungeon-crawling RPG will be released in fall 2018 in North America and Europe for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Switch and PlayStation 4 versions will be available physically and digitally, with the PC version released digitally via Steam. A limited edition can be pre-ordered for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 from NIS America’s online store, priced at $79.99 and containing a tarot card deck, label pin set, hardcover art book, bookmark, and 2-CD official soundtrack.

Labyrinth of Refrain puts players in the role of the living book, Tractatus de Monstrum. Players summon various puppet soldiers to navigate the titular labyrinth, sending them to retrieve treasure and artifacts while overcomes obstacles, puzzles, and creatures.
