Yakuza: Like a Dragon Launching in November, English Voice Overs Announced
Sega announced that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in November 2020. A PlayStation 5 version is in development and will arrive at a later date with an upgrade path from the PlayStation 4 version planned. An Xbox Series X version is planned for launch in the 2020 holiday period, with owners of the Xbox One version able to upgrade through Xbox’s Smart Delivery program. The standard game will cost $59.99 on all platforms, while the $69.99 Hero and $89.99 Legendary Hero digital editions will include various in-game item sets.
In addition to the release date, Sega announced that the game will include English voice overs. The following cast members and roles were confirmed:
- Kaiji Tang as Ichiban Kasuga
- George Takei as Masumi Arakawa
- Andrew Morgado as Koichi Adachi
- Greg Chun as Yu Nanba
- Elizabeth Maxwell as Saeko Mukoda
As with Judgment, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will include English and Japanese voice over options (with adjusted lip-sync) as well as dual English subtitles for each of the audio options. It will also include French, Italian, German, and Spanish subtitles, all based on the Japanese audio.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the newest title in the series and is known as Yakuza 7 in Japan. The game stars a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, who is released after taking the fall and serving a prison sentence for someone else but finds himself abandoned by his former allies in the yakuza. As opposed to the action combat of previous entries, Yakuza: Like a Dragon features turn-based battles, as well as a job system.
