New King’s Bounty II Dev Diary Focuses on Combat

1C Entertainment released its third developer diary video for the upcoming King’s Bounty II. The new seven-minute video, viewable below, focuses on the game’s tactical hex-based combat system, providing details about its implementation of 3D battlefields, how completing quests can grant additional allies, and more.

The King’s Bounty series began with the original title released for PC in 1990, which was designed by Might & Magic series creator Jon Van Canegham. A Sega Genesis version, with significant changes, was released in 1991. A spiritual sequel to the original game, King’s Bounty: The Legend, was released for PC and Mac in 2008, with its engine used for further sequels King’s Bounty: Armored Princess, King’s Bounty: Warriors of the North, and King’s Bounty: Dark Side. King’s Bounty II is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and is set to be released sometime in 2020.
