Borderlands 3 Enters Proving Grounds, Circle of Slaughter
Gearbox Software showed up to Gamescom 2019 with new information regarding additional modes in Borderlands 3. The first was the announcement of Proving Grounds, a new game mode where players will undergo timed event challenges. Players will be given thirty minutes to make it through three distinct waves of enemies before being awarded with rare loot whose value is determined by the speed at which the trial is completed. The other piece of news is the return of the Palace of Slaughter, a series of events scattered across the campaign that rewards players for surviving five waves of increasingly difficult enemies.
Borderlands 3 puts players in role of new Vault Hunters who ally themselves with Lilith’s Crimson Raiders in a hunt for the leaders of the Children of the Vault cult. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 13, 2019. A Google Stadia version will be released at a later date.
